Hear from Our People

Diaz McMahon
I began volunteering at Figtree in early 2023 while completing my Level 3 Health and Social Care course, supporting clients and learning from experienced carers. After my course, I was officially employed in July 2023 and quickly became well-regarded by clients and colleagues. Nine months in, I expressed interest in progressing and, after a year, was promoted to Senior Carer. In late 2024, I began training for a Team Leader role and officially took on the position in January 2025. I’ve now been a Team Leader for five months and continue to enjoy the challenges and responsibilities it brings.

I joined Figtree House Care in February 2023 as a carer and was quickly offered the role of Senior Carer due to my qualifications. From the beginning, I worked closely with my colleagues to build strong, trusting relationships with our clients. Not long after, I was invited to train as a Team Leader, a role I embraced and enjoyed for the added responsibility and leadership opportunities it provided. In the summer of 2024, I was proud to step into the position of Care Team Manager for the North Team. This role includes managing on-call duties and supporting both staff and clients in emergency situations. Since taking on this role, I’ve worked hard to contribute positively to the team and foster meaningful connections with both our carers and the individuals we support
